Award-winning musician, composer, and music historian Willie Aron will present an overview of the history, and enduring impact of, jazz in Los Angeles. From Jelly Roll Morton and Lionel Hampton to Ornette Coleman and Kamasi Washington, from Central Avenue and Hermosa Beach’s famed Lighthouse Cafe to the World Stage, we will be exploring the faces, places and sounds that have impacted musicians and music lovers alike for over a century.
